Pilar was one of the most accomplished dancer in Granada, at the tender age of 16, she began to dance and perform flamenco. She is from Cadiz and acquired a very gypsy yet elegant style, different from Seville or Granada style. Now it’s a great chance that she is coming to Shanghai to perform and teach an intense workshop here in Shanghai for all the flamenco afonciados.
Flamenco empowers the dancer to connect with the audience through the expression of his or her own feelings and vulnerability. Flamenco music express deep feelings of love, joy, rage, sadness, jealousy, flirtatiousness or happiness in a very human and powerful way. This ancestral music was born as a need to express people´s dreams, sufferings, fears or wishes. Majestic Flamenco dance, immersed in the guitar and driven by clapping rhythms, reminds us of primitive dance rituals. These rituals used to gather people around the music to celebrate the emergence of different instinctual energies. These classes will focus on the expression of your inner instinctual energies as a way to empower you to dance and have fun while you do it.
In doing so, the students always improved their posture, their stamina, and gain a better body condition. This will in turn improve the students self esteem and confidence. Flamenco dance is also used in many European countries as therapies.
She is now offering beginners and Intermediate/advanced course for all the students in Shanghai. Participants will be taught a complete choreography of their choice. If you have always been fascinated by the art of flamenco, here is an opportunity for you to experience and get introduced to the Spanish culture through the music and dance of Spain. You will be exposed to technical training including the flamenco rhythms, percussive footwork, lyrical hands and arm movements.
