www.flamenco.com.tw) was founded by Lin KenÁÖ¸û (director of the company) and Lee Shin Àîê¿ (ex-dentist). Based in
Taiwan, they have aroused a flamenco
fever and fascinated Chinese audience from afar. This popular group has performed everywhere and their footprints cover the whole of Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau and even Dalian in China. Recently, Mi Fuego has adapted original art elements to flamenco and is considered as a role model in its creativity and collaboration with other art groups.
Mi Fuego courses are specially designed to give flamenco training to students in an easy and systematic way. Each course includes technique and a short excerpt of theatrical choreography, allowing students to enjoy dancing while appreciating the history of flamenco and the culture of Spain.
Beginner Flamenco ¨C Pasodoble ¡°The Infatuated Bullfighter¡±
This well-known pasodoble music is played during the entrance of bullfighters. It originated from El Gato Montes (the wild cat) which comes from Spanish zarzuela (Spanish light opera). The dance steps and postures correspond with the strong and passionate rhythm. The course is suitable for beginners and provides a solid foundation to flamenco dance.
Flamenco 1 ¨C Colombianas ¡°My Soul is Set Free¡±
Colombianas is a delightful song form. This song is sung by Ana Reverte and contains a Caribbean feel. Accompanied by Middle Eastern musical instruments, one will immediately fall in love with this light-hearted tune while dancing to it. The course is suitable for those with some previous experience in flamenco dance.
Flamenco 2 ¨C Alegrias con Mant¨®n ¡°The Alluring Mant¨®n Dance¡±
Mant¨®n (shawl) is an accessory of Spanish ladies fashion with fine handicraft of flecos (fringe) and embroidery. It is often employed as a prop in flamenco dance. The use of mant¨®n to this alegrias serves to highlight the vitality and grace of the dance. This course is for students who wish to learn how to dance with the mant¨®n.
